Do you believe your goals are realistic?

Goal setting helps us identify targets so we know clearly where we are going and what we need to get there. And our success in reaching those targets spurs us on to accomplish more, so we find our lives rich in meaning and purpose. But the beauty and value of the goal setting process is quickly lost if we set goals that we have no hope of attaining. Our experience in this case is of frustration and failure, not success. This drains our energy and our morale, and undermines our drive to be the very best we can be.

If you are new to goal setting, set up a situation you believe you can win. Your belief in your own success
is vital. So set a target that will mean something when you reach it, but be sure you have some chance of getting there. If you don’t really believe you can do it, you’ll be right.
