We need to experience awareness

Who taught you to ride a bike?

That was a trick question. No one can teach anyone else to ride a bike. We have to do it all by ourselves – through awareness.

David Neagle explains that we learn to ride a bike when we become aware of how to balance our body on the bicycle. We have to experience this – no one can tell us how to do it.

So, reading about conscious awareness will not change our lives. We have to experience being fully present in this moment – over and over and over again.

“I have known it for a long time but I have only just experienced it. Now I know it not only with my intellect, but with my eyes, with my heart, with my stomach.” — Hermann Hesse
