When we take the time to set an intention, even if it seems trivial, we are
consciously and deliberately choosing what we want for ourselves. And when we
clearly set an intention, our conscious and subconscious minds mobilize to help
us meet that goal.
Build a practice of starting each morning with a clear intention. Before you
even get out of bed, anchor a clear intention in your mind for what you want
from the day. Emotionalize it. Symbolize it. Visualize it. Energize it.
Also play with setting short-term intentions throughout the day to focus the
power of your mind. Ask yourself often, “What do I want now?” Consider the
possibilities! You might intend to:
- complete a task quickly, easily and beautifully.
- enjoy a meal.
- stay safe and relaxed on the way to work.
- really be present to someone you’re with.
Once you discover the power of this process, you’ll be inspired to use it often.
