All eyes these days are focused on the turmoil of our global economy. News stories typically focus on doom and gloom but what other storyline might be unfolding here?

The two of us aren’t economists – just observers of life. Here’s what we’re seeing:

Energetically, this feels like a course correction. For far too long, too much yang energy has created an unsustainable global economic environment. There’s a desperate need for balance. Perhaps this requires old paradigms to collapse to make way for a brand new economic order that reflects humanity’s rising consciousness.

When such large and powerful forces are at work, what does this mean for each of us individually? As always, we are being invited to look inside to reflect on how we can personally sit right with the world.

Crises, whether in economics, relationships or health, force us to reassess our needs and desires to arrive at a new understanding of what truly matters. What’s really important? Where do we need to adjust our thinking and our behaviour?

If we seek lasting abundance, we want to heighten our awareness of our thoughts, words, motives and actions around money. Do they consistently and congruently reflect higher values? Does the way we make, spend and invest money result in harm to others or to the earth? In all of our endeavours, we seek to realize the highest good for all.

Our greatest challenge at this time may be standing apart from the negativity, fear and panic that these situations generate in mass consciousness. With will and mental discipline, we can choose to focus on gratitude for what we do have rather than move into fear about what may (or may not) be coming.

It’s time to create a new vision and new realities around money and economy for this planet. Money is neither good nor bad, yet as energy it carries tremendous force. How can we use it to promote the greater good?
