Often we hear from people who like what we offer and want to give back to
others in a similar way. They want to share their wisdom and to earn a
livelihood doing it. Today, more and more people are growing in consciousness
and feeling the urge to serve and help others.
So they ask us: What was your process? How did you create this service?
Here are 3 big steps that may help you bring your ideals to life:
- Write the outline for your ideal book. Even if you have no intention of
writing a book, go through the process of writing down the essence of the
wisdom you have to contribute. What would you name your book? What would you
cover in the 7 main chapters? You need only write the chapter titles, but if
you feel inspired to go further, write a paragraph about each of them.
Periodically, review your outline. Keep asking if these words best reflect
your mission. You might want to gradually add content to the outline so you
build the specifics of your personal service. Putting our dreams into words is
a powerful way of grounding the energy and making the dream more concrete and
specific.
- Idealize the delivery of your unique business or service. This is perhaps
our greatest challenge. So often, when we think of how we would actually offer
our service, we focus on the roadblocks – around money, expertise, equipment,
timing, etc. Other people may also eagerly tell us why our plans won’t work.
Well, we don’t have to listen to them! Focus your attention as fully as you
can on your new service without roadblocks. Imagine the ideal. Imagine you
have everything you need for your plans to be successful. Experience now your
delight, excitement and fulfillment as your dream unfolds.
- Pay attention to what’s happening around you! When we can focus with
happy, trusting hearts on how we can serve, life brings us opportunities! Our
only task is to recognize the opportunities when they arrive, and then act on
them. We need to be as open as possible, because sometimes solutions arrive in
completely unexpected ways.
If we could summarize our guidance to you, it would be: focus on what you
want and NOT on what you don’t want. Life truly supports us in living our
dreams. In our business, for example, the Internet offers huge benefits that
weren’t even conceivable only a few years back. Believe in yourself and in
possibilities!
“One of the saddest lines in the world is, ‘Oh come now – be realistic.’ The
best parts of this world were not fashioned by those who were realistic. They
were fashioned by those who dared to look hard at their wishes and gave them
horses to ride.”
-- Richard Nelson Bolles
“If I keep a green bough in my heart, then the singing bird will come.”
-- Chinese proverb
