Pain’s Message
“Fear of the pain blinds us to the goal of healing. Only by seeing our problems clearly and experiencing them can we do something about them.”
-- Bob Hoffman
Our higher selves are communicating with us all
the time. Are we getting the messages?
Subtle intuitive messages from our inner wisdom can easily be missed. Mental
messages get by-passed and lost in our busy and cluttered minds. Emotional
messages are often scary and ignored. But pain messages that arrive through our
bodies from disease or injury are most likely to grab our attention.
Disease and injury both force us to slow down. With our normal routines
disrupted, we have an opportunity to reflect on our situation. How are we not
meeting our deepest needs? When we take the time to explore how we’re doing
life, we can find our way back to well-being.
We are physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. When we feel pain in any of
these areas, it’s a sign that some aspect of our life is out of alignment with
who we really are.
Always remember that pain is never random or accidental – it’s delivering a
message. Ask for its guidance and open all channels to receive the answers. At
its deepest level, it will call you to live your love, power or will in a new
way.
Please – don’t beat yourself up for being in pain! That just makes things worse.
This is a natural part of the human experience. Focus instead on finding a new
level of health and peace, for this is the gift the messenger brings.
“To heal means to meet ourselves in a new way
-- in the newness of each moment where all is possible and nothing is limited to
the old.”
-- Stephen Levine
“How very wise the body is. [It gives] us the means to understand ourselves
further, to confront issues we are not looking at, and to go beyond that which
is holding us back.”
-- Deb Shapiro
