Take 'Quality' Steps to What You Want
The principles you live by create the world you live in; if you change the
principles you live by, you will change your world.

Hi,
Do you get so overwhelmed by the details that you lose sight of the big picture?
If so, the 'Evolving Essences' journaling tool might bring you relief and clarity. It's
quite simple. Rather than focusing on the tasks and materials you need to reach a goal,
you identity the qualities or states that will take you there.
Here is an example:
I was locked into a busy cycle. I knew I had to find more space and then some inner calm
so I could make bigger decisions and be in control of my time. This would allow me to open
doors for my new projects.
Looking at my situation in terms of qualities, I could see this path: busyness - space -
calmness - decision making - control - my new business. As I focus on each one, I naturally
have a sense of what I need to do to bring it into being.
We tend to be more motivated when we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and a
clear path to get there. When we view life more through attitudes and virtues than tasks,
it doesn't feel so burdensome. When we focus on a few big steps, we are less likely to get
lost in the small stuff of life.
EXERCISES:
Getting started:
Bring to mind a situation or challenge you are in right now. What progression of
qualities will gradually move you out of unease or distress to some level of safe
ground that can act as a springboard to attain your higher goal?
Go deeper:
What new quality do you want to integrate into your life? Look at where you are right
now and identify the attitudes and virtues that step by step will get you there.
Reach higher:
Create evolving essences that would lead you to unconditional love, integrity, truth,
goodness, beauty, power, etc.
See how describing the big picture in terms of evolving essences can bring your dreams to life.

select his own methods. The man who tries methods, ignoring principles, is sure to have trouble.”
