Solstice means the sun stands still. In the northern hemisphere we are
approaching the winter solstice – the longest night of the year. To our readers
in the southern hemisphere, who are now basking in the bright sun of the summer
solstice, please forgive the northern focus. We felt the information on cycles
applies equally to us all, just at different times.
The equinoxes and solstices bring in the 4 seasons. These key times connect us
with the strong cycles of the earth moving around the sun. Since the autumn
equinox, we have been experiencing a time of harvesting and thanksgiving as we
prepare for winter.
Now we are nearing the season of winter. This is a time of:
- Rejuvenation, reflection and healing.
- Integration – our consciousness expands due to the lessons we have
learned.
- Anticipation of the increasing light and new experiences of a new cycle.
In numerology the calendar year moves through 9 cycles. We are in the 9th
cycle that corresponds to similar energy of completion and release as we await
new beginnings and ideas.
Take full advantage of the energies of the season by allowing time for
stillness, solitude and reflection.
What needs healing or completing?
What lessons have you learned that you now own and can move beyond?
When have you booked time for stillness, reflection and review?
Enjoy this festive season!
““Four seasons fill the measure of the year.
There are four seasons in the mind of men.”
-- John Keats
“In seed time learn, in harvest teach, in winter enjoy.”
-- William Blake
